JoyJ - Bringing Home to the Homeless

JoyJ - A Place of My Own | Virtual Reality

 OBJECTIVE

JoyJ relies on volunteers to bring food and clothing to homeless people in NYC. The volunteers go to where the homeless people are, rather than assuming they’ll show up to a soup kitchen or shelter.

The JoyJ Initiative had no video overview of their program and believed this could be critical way to getting folks interested in volunteering and to help inspire the expansion of the program via the formation of new chapters in other regions.

New-comers interested in volunteering, but needing some more info with an overview of what their program is all about. visitors to their website and With Bringing Home to the Homeless, JoyJ’s goal was to provide an overview of their program to new-comers.

PUTTING THE PUZZLE TOGETHER:

In a world where connections are increasingly superficial, JoyJ fosters meaningful human connections by offering unique programs for groups and individuals to provide food and necessities to the homeless population in their communities.

The trick was to sensitively authentically capture these moments of connection. It’s all about timing, the right size footprint, knowing when and where to point the camera and how to ask permission with empathetic eyes and warm smile.
