Blending Nature, Tech, and Retail Magic, Tula House Launches Immersive Plant Shop App
Tula House, renowned for its rare and exotic plants, today announced the launch of "Plant Shop by Tula House," a groundbreaking spatial commerce app designed to bring the magic of its boutique experience to digital platforms.
In a revolutionary move, Tula House leverages Apple's Vision Pro technology to offer immersive retail experiences via iPhones. Content such as 2D photos, videos, 3D spatial videos, and 3D objects scanned with an iPhone app can be easily uploaded to the Vision Pro app, creating a fully immersive experience. Spearheaded by Sam Baumel, a seasoned filmmaker with a passion for immersive design, the app marks a significant milestone in blending physical retail with cutting-edge digital innovation.
Embracing Spatial Commerce
The launch of Plant Shop by Tula House showcases the transformative power of spatial commerce and mixed reality technologies. By harnessing the capabilities of Apple’s visionOS platform and future-ready devices like Meta Quest and Google’s forthcoming mixed reality headset, Tula House pioneers a new era where brands can extend their reach beyond traditional storefronts. Customers can now explore and interact with lifelike 3D models of Tula House's plants in their own environments accompanied by spatial video and educational videos. “I love how this technology connects people to nature,” Baumel says. “It’s not just about showing a plant on a screen – it’s about letting people interact with it in their own space, learning how to care for it, and experiencing it in 3D, almost as if it were right in front of them.”
Empowering Independent Retailers
Sam Baumel emphasizes accessibility in spatial app development, making it feasible for businesses of all sizes to adopt immersive technologies. The app enables shop owners to create their own spatial commerce apps using photo, video, and 3D content from their iPhones. With a user-friendly process that involves the simple scanning of objects using smartphones, Tula House sets a precedent for boutique retailers seeking to enhance customer engagement through spatial storytelling.
"Plant Shop by Tula House not only showcases our exquisite plant collection but also fosters deeper connections between our brand and consumers," said Christan Summers, co-founder of Tula House. Ivan Martinez, also Tula House’s co-founder, adds, “It embodies our commitment to innovation and creativity by bringing the beauty of nature into digital realms."
Advancing Retail Experiences
Beyond traditional e-commerce, spatial commerce redefines how consumers interact with products, reducing returns and enhancing decision-making confidence. By simulating real-world interactions with virtual plants, Tula House enhances the shopping journey, making it more immersive and informative.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, Sam Baumel envisions further advancements in AI integration. He explains, “By adding AI to the mix, more custom guidance can be given to consumers on how best to care for their particular plant and how it can best fit into their specific home or office environment."
As technology evolves, Plant Shop by Tula House remains committed to pioneering spatial commerce solutions that deepen our connection to the natural world.
Plant Shop by Tula House will launched April 22, 2025; Earth Day. See how it transforms the way we shop, learn, and live — all while celebrating the beauty of the natural world.
