OBJECTIVE
Capture the energy and message of Elizabeth Warren’s landmark rally in New York City’s Washington Square Park, where she spoke to a crowd of 20,000+ and delivered a blistering speech about the corruption of Donald Trump, corporate interests and the GOP.
PUTTING THE PUZZLE TOGETHER
Deploying four 360 VR camera operators across Washington Square Park, we captured the rally simultaneously from several perspectives. Both prior to and following Elizabeth Warren’s speech we shot stereoscopic (3D) portraits with a wide range of attendees. These portraits of everyday Americans feature prominently in the piece as Elizabeth Warren gives voice to the people. The video concludes with highlights from Senator Warren’s four-hour selfie line – a true cultural phenomenon.
FINISHED PRODUCT
The final political campaign video jumps into the middle of the speech at it’s most crucial moment – when Senator Warren villifies her opponents for unparalleled corruption. She pinpoints the problems America faces before presenting a vision, a plan for the future under her leadership. The faces at the rally reflect the new momentum Senator Warren has been exciting across the country.
There’s no better way to sense what it was like to be at this momentous event for the presidential campaign than in VR. The piece was published on the campaigns Team Warren Facebook page and then shared on Elizabeth Warren’s official FB page as well. Oculus featured the piece in the number one position within the Oculus Videos app. This prime VR headset real estate helped increase exposure for this novel 360 video, with now 23,000 views.
