OBJECTIVE

Document the reveal of the first-ever deployment of The Shed - a building that moves - over the plaza at Hudson yards.

The Shed will be New York’s first multi-arts center designed to commission, produce, and present all types of performing arts, visual arts, and popular culture.

PUTTING THE PUZZLE TOGETHER

The Shed was only scheduled to move twice - over the plaza out and then back in. In addition, to capturing the movement and machinery of the building from multiple perspectives, we also needed to capture the programming - live performances and convocation speakers.

Our hard-hat clad crew was positioned with precision around the building, up in the scaffolding and we even obtained permission to fly a drone beside The Vessel.

FINAL PRODUCT

This colossal structure sits atop 16 human-sized wheels. It’s a feat of engineering and architecture befitting of the grand cultural exhibitions it will host for generations to come. The first show was performed by the building itself.
